    Description

Pre-WWI Argentinian M1891 pattern sword bayonet to a Mauser rifle, various stampings to blade including D9695, with brass grip and steel scabbard with non-matching serial number G1612. The ricasso is marked "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co." over "Solingen", the reverse side has orginal Argentine crest. When these bayonets were decommissioned by the government the Argentinian coat-of-arms was normally defaced by grinding it off. Unlike others this piece retains its original crest. All parts are tight. Scabbard still retains 99% of his original blue finish. The crossguard is marked with a sideways "R", the underside is marked "365", an "M" in a circle on the grip near the crossguard and there is an "RA" on the side of the pommel. The brass grips are solid with light wear. Lock button is functional. The blade is mostly clean with a few small age spots, straight, tight, has not been sharpened, and has no nicks. Length of the blade measures 15 3/4" (15/16" wide x 1/4" thick), and the bayonet is 20 9/16". Muzzle ring is 19/32".
