Imacasa is a company/manufacturer located in Santa Ana, El Salvador. The unknown label lists Gebr (short for Gebrüder) Weyersberg (it's a company), and under that is Solingen which is in Germany (and where Gebr Weyersberg was located). Gebr founded Imacasa in 1964, Corneta, it's a brand that was owned by Gebr Weyersberg, and presumed Imacasa (since they founded the company). However Imcasa was sold to local investors from Gebr in 1987.
The assumption is that since the stamp/label carries the Gebr Weyersberg name and references Solingen that it was probably made between 1964 and 1987 when Gebr Weyersberg owned Imacasa.
The machete is an estate find. The estate owner explained that this was her father's. Her father, a Marine, served in WWII at the age of 17. Some short time after his return he did some traveling. This is an item he acquired this machete. She didn't know much about it other than he really liked it and only used for display.
Exact age of this item is unknown.
Condition is Pre-Owned, however condition is excellent- near MINT! View pictures near the tip. Shows some light surface scratching, however unsure of how. Possibly from being pulled in and out of sheath. Doesn't show signs of use that would indicate the reason for the surface scratches. Really Nice!!
