    Viking temple sword with sheath
    Viking temple sword with sheath
The Viking or Carolingian sword was a type of sword used in western and northern Europe in the early Middle Ages. The «Viking sword» was developed from the Roman Spatha and was used by the Franks in the Carolingian period (751 to 911).
This sword is made exclusively by hand. The guard and the characteristic three-pointed hat knob are forged in steel. The blade is hand-riveted to the knob. The handle has leather straps. The blade has a distinctive fuller that offers great flexibility and lower weight. The edges of the blade are not sharp.
The beautiful wooden sheath is lined in leather and features a wooden belt clip (maximum belt width 5 cm), as well as a richly ornate brass layer.
