Two-handed sword of the Late Middle Ages sk-C exhibitionTwo-handed sword of the Late Middle Ages sk-C exhibition
Very nice reconstruction of a fork of the late Middle Ages. These swords appeared in the fourteenth century and were also called bastard swords or simply long swords.
This sword is completely handmade. The forward curved quillons with twisted stop ring are made of steel. The wooden handle is artfully carved. The torsion pattern can be found here and also on the iron knob.
The steel sheet for springs hardened in oil to approximately 48-50 HRC runs through the knob and is rivated there by hand. The cross section of the leaf is shaped like a diamond. The tip of the blade and the sharp edges are detuned and rounded.
A cover is included in the supply volume.
