Sword of the European Court of the 18th century with sheathSword of the European Court of the 18th century with sheath
This civil weapon developed during the Baroque period became known as the court sword or gallantry sword. This gradually replaced the stoque since the mid-17th century, as lighter and less bulky weapons were needed than the stoque. This is due to increased population growth and lack of associated space during this period.
This replica of the cutting stoque has an EN45 spring steel sheet with a triangular cross section, which is not sharp. The guard and curved handguard are made of brass with wooden handle.
The sword sheath is made of leather-lined wood, with brass hardware and a hook to attach the sword sheath to the belt.
