This handmade sterling and metal belt is 41" long and features 15 handmade sterling pieces which were originally buttons. They range in size--1" diameter, 1 1/8," and 1 1/4"--and were made by 2 different makers: Henry Mathews and Laurence Emanuel, both of Birmingham. The rest of the belt is a silver colored metal in link chain which is sturdy and about 1/4" wide. The Emanual buttons are 3 in all and feature a repousse image of a woman. The Mathews buttons are of 2 different sizes and images--1 has cherubs and the other is a lily. The silver is hallmarked with the makers marks, date letters , lion silver marks and Birmingham anchor. The belt is in very nice condition with no breaks or repairs, no bending or dents. Great boho look.

This rare handmade sterling and metal belt measures 41" long. It features 15 handmade sterling pieceswhich were originally buttons. They range in size--1" diameter 1 1/8" diameter and 1 1/4" diameter--and were made by two different makers: Henry Mathews and Laurence Emanuel, both of Birmingham. The Mathews buttons have a date of 1901 while the Emanuel buttoms are either 1899 or 1925. The balance of the belt is a silver colored metal in link style about 1/4" wide. The Laurence Emanual buttons are three in all and feature a repousse image of a woman. The Henry Mathews buttons are of two different sizes and images. One has several cherubs and the other is a lily flower. The silver is hallmarked with the makers marks, date letters , lion silver marks and Birmingham anchor.
The belt is in very nice condition with no breaks or repairs, no bending or dents.  Great boho look.
