Renowned drum set artist Stanton Moore has collaborated with Latin Percussion designers to create the Rio Stanton Moore Pandeiro. Directly mounted to his kit, this uniquely crafted Brazilian-style Pandiero is an essential component to Moore’s set-up.
“In my playing, I'm always trying to incorporate elements of the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indians,” explains Moore. “Mardi Gras Indian drumming utilizes a lot of tambourines and floor toms. My signature pandeiro sounds like a floor tom with jingles.”
The pandeiro is fitted with seven sets of jingles and eight tuning rods to create its distinctive sound. A Remo® Coated Emperor head adds depth to the drum, particularly when mic’d from underneath and sent through a PA.
The Stanton Moore Pandeiro has a high-density hardwood shell that is designed to withstand high impact when played with a stick. At 12-inches in diameter, it’s perfectly sized for convenient placement around a drum kit. It fits comfortably into a snare stand or it can be flown off of a cymbal stand using its built-in shell mount that fits onto a standard 3/8" rod. A convenient carry bag is also included.
