Masterpieces of asian sword art
– hand-forged in carbon steel and traditionally hardened
– the leaves bent 12 times (8000 layers) and show beautiful damask properties
– the handle (tsuka) is made of wood and covered with real fish skin (same)
– the handle is wrapped (tsuka-ito) in traditional black cotton
– there are two decorative handles (menuki)
– the handle (tsuka) is anchored to the leaf with bamboo pins (mekugi)
– the pod is made of wood
– the leaf has a brass necklace (habaki) so that it does not rattle in the pod
