Italo-Corinthian helmet with black plumeItalo-Corinthian helmet with black plume
In the seventh century BC
The Corinthian helmets that were created in the 3rd century B.C. C. still shape the image of the typical Greek helmet today.
Its origin goes back to the city of Corinth.
It quickly became an integral part of Greek hoplite armor and spread to Italy where, with some modifications, it was one of the most common helmets in the Roman Republic army.
This replica of the Italo-Corinthian helmet is made of black colored steel and offers the typical shape of the popular helmet with a long front section, nose visor and curved neck protection.
This helmet is decorated on the sides with mythical creatures (apparently a mixture of horse and snake), on the forehead a portrait of a woman's head made of bronze.
It includes a large, shiny plume, which is fixed by the metal plates attached to the helmet.
A padded hood is also included.
