Oliver Cromwell (1599 – 1658) was a powerful figure in the history of England during and after the English Civil War, when he rose from the rank of Horse Captain to Lord Protector of England.
His sword, which is said to have been carried at the Battle of Drogheda in 1649, has been preserved remarkably well and appears in the collection of the Royal Armouries in Leeds, England, where it is exhibited in the permanent collection.
Our Cromwell sword is an exact replica of the original «mortutuary» grip style and features a blackened protector decorated with a gold foliage pattern with a wired shark skin grip. As the original sword now lacks a sheath, we have provided a typical design of the time.
