Kaeru – Paul Chen/Hanwei’s Traditional Samurai Sword
The blade of the Kaeru katana is hand-forged and bent with powdered steel, with a medium-length kissaki (chu). The saya is deeply lacquered in black. High-quality ray skin (same) is used in tsuka. Tsuka-ito is made of premium dark blue Japanese cotton. The tsuba is expertly cast in stainless steel and with a patina similar to blackened iron, with gold and silver details and a decoration with a frog on a water lily. Silk sageo complements the frog theme and is elegantly hand-woven in dark blue and moss green. The fuchi and kashira are black with brass details, and the kojiri, koiguchi and kurikata are polished buffalo horn. The habaki is a brass construction in one piece.
A traditional maintenance kit (OH1003) is included.
