    Hanwei - Bastard Battle Sword
    Hanwei - Bastard Battle Sword
Known for their strength and bravery, German and Swiss soldiers were the first to use this type of sword. The bastard sword soon became increasingly popular in other areas of the European continent and in the British Isles.
The name bastard is no doubt due to the fact that the sword cannot be classified as a one-handed or two-handed sword due to its format. This hand and a half sword was specially developed for infantry and was a common weapon in the early sixteenth century. The cultures of northern Europe made the development of different styles of hand and half sword fighting their specialty. In this sense, the German nations played a decisive role in the spread of this sword and used it widely.
To keep the burr formation as small as possible and ensure the strength needed for recreation or exhibition combat use, the blade is forged in 5160 carbon steel. In addition, the transverse resistance of the crosshead has been increased to provide both ends with a profile that offers more safety.
Another innovation is the provision of a pod made entirely of leather instead of the hard pods usually supplied with Hanwei display swords. This ensures additional safety in combat, for example, if a fighter falls on the sheath of his sword. This also reduces the need for replacement.
The handle cover and cover of this hand and a half are made of neutral colored leather and can therefore be individually designed according to your taste.
