The medieval Man at Arms was a brave and loyal fighter full of bellicose heroism who mastered a variety of weapons with great skill. A veteran of countless battles, he was often the first to jump into battle. In honor of these rugged and devoted vagrants, Cold Steel created the Man at Arms weapons collection. Compared to the premium versions of Cold Steel, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual elements of silver polished steel, but in terms of quality and performance, the MAA series products are close to the other products. Cold Steel’s mace, inspired by historical templates, is modeled after a custom production by blade forger Dave Baker and is a masterpiece in terms of minimalist design. In contrast to the ornate weapons, these determined maces were often kept simple and unadorned. They were worn on the hips on the bracelet or behind the belt and therefore could be quickly removed and put into play as a last resort for self-defense. The user could quickly grab it and use that sturdy steel mace as a thrust weapon, or swing it for a stronger (and even more devastating) blunt blow.
The Polish mace is small and surprisingly light. It has a thick-walled hollow handle and a bulb-shaped striated steel head with a polished brass final piece. This simple mace can be easily customized, modified or expanded with a handle wrap for recreation purposes, and is an extraordinary object with a fun factor that will enrich any collection.
