Cold Steel® Emperor Series swords are designed to reflect some of the most distinctive features of Japanese sword design. Cold Steel® uses only traditional materials for Tsuba (protector), Fuchi (collar) and Kashira (pomo). Each piece is made by experts and finely crafted in alpaca. The Habaki (leaf neck) is also handmade with alpaca and the handle is covered in samé (ray skin) and wrapped tightly in the traditional style with black silk cord. A beautiful Menuki (a small ornamental sculpture inserted between the ray skin and the lace wraps) further enhances the appearance of the handle.
All Emperor swords feature fully sharp 1060 high carbon steel blades that are heat treated to a tough spring temperament. The leaves are then carefully finished by hand with a beautiful mirror enamel applied to the most complete.
