The swords in the Emperor series display some of the most defining features of Japanese sword design. Only traditional materials are used in the manufacture of accessories. The protective blade (Tsuba), the handle clamp (Fuchi) and the handle cap (Kashira) are made of alpaca and are handmade by experts. The blade clamp (Habaki) is also handmade with alpaca and the striped leather inlay on the handle (Samé) is firmly wrapped in the traditional style with black silk cord. The beautiful menuki (small decorative element between the skin of the stripe and the wrapping of the handle) further enhances the appearance of the sword.
All the sheets of the Emperador series are made of 1060 carbon steel, tempered to the hardness of the spring and sharp. Then, each one is carefully polished by hand, and the chamfer is specially polished to get a high shine.
