Up for sale is Caron Watercolours 3 ply Pima Cotton Thread, this fiber can be separated based on the count of the canvas you are stitching on and the effect you would like. The price is per skein. There are 10 yards per skein.
The plying recommended is:
Needlepoint 18 Count - 1 ply,
Needlepoint 13/14 ct - 2 ply,
Needlepoint 10 ct - 3 ply,
Cross stitch 11-20 ct - 1 ply
This is the description from the manufacturers website:
A three-ply hand-dyed pima cotton in variegated colors. It has a silky sheen, especially when used with long, flat stitches.
Separate the plies and use one or more in the needle according to the pattern directions.
One ply is about the same weight as a #5 pearl cotton or six plies of cotton floss or one ply of Persian wool.
Also good for Sashiko.
