British sword for general officers M-1831 with sheath
British officers were often particular about the appearance of their uniform and weaponry; The Duke of Wellington, for example, wore a saber that had a Mamluk-style handle based on his experiences in India.
The new later design of the officers’ swords from around 1831 was based on the one carrying Wellington. This replica has an EN45 spring steel sheet that is sharp but has no end edge. The decorated cross is made of brass, while the handle is made of wood and horn and is of Mamluk style.
The saber comes with a matching sword cover made of sheet metal that includes a support ring.
