This is a very rare 56mm, 1 11/16 inches in diameter, milk bottle cap from Bell-Brook Dairies which was located in San Francisco, CA with the character Mr. Donkey of the Animals series. This cap would be a great way to cap the milk bottles in your collection or for resale or trade. This cap has been used. This highly collectible cap was designed by Wolo a well-known cartoonist during the 1940s in California. He was the designer of Edgar Bergen’s Mortimer Snerd ventriloquist dummy. He was also a cartoon illustrator for the San Francisco Chronicle. He also designed the menus for the Hippo Hamburger restaurant in San Francisco among numerous other endeavors. He designed these caps specifically for only this dairy in 1940 and no other and there are over 100 unique designs among which are mammals, insects, fishes, animals, etc. They are truly unique.
This is not a reproduction or fake, but is an actual cap used by the dairy.
