Vintage Antique Full Tang Meat Cleaver 14½" Handmade Butcher Knife / Hog Splitter
This chopper has a full tang, angled blade that's approximately 5/8" thick hammered iron that tapers down to about 1/4" thick lengthwise.  Its overall length is approx. 14.5" with a 3.5" wide x 8" long head.  It also tapers the entire length of the iron somewhat from top to bottom for a better feel when handling this cleaver.
Obviously the handle has come apart only leaving half of its original wood in place, a nice project piece for a woodworker, or anyone for that matter,  to try and re-create the other scale or handle section.
There's NO significant damage to the full tang other than some rust, scratches and marks. The blade needs a good sharpening.
This style cleaver is more challenging to build, which produces good hand balance for its size with less fatigue. Blades that have a tang that is full will be heavier in the hand instead of the head. This overall design makes a one-handed functionality more user-friendly.
