Antique Gorham Sterling Silver Dresden Rose Repousse Hand Mirror | Monogram H | Design C430
May I offer:
Dating to the late 1890s or so, may I offer this stunning sterling silver hand mirror from Gorham (hallmarked on the bottom right front side). In a heavy repousse design (Dresden rose - pattern number C430), the main focal point is initial H set at the center, surrounded by the 3D roses and other blossoms set amidst scrollwork curlicues. The top of the mirror has a mellow patina - I did not polish completely so tarnish still remains; no dents or dings to the silver that I can spot. The mirror is perfect - no disintegration in the silvering at all. Size is 7-3/8" long x 5-3/8" wide. The mirror has a weight of 233 grams but most of that is the plaster on the inside as well as the mirror. Gorgeous!
