    Description

Presented is an antique, English sterling silver desk bell made by William Henry Sparrow of Birmingham in 1904. This Art Nouveau style piece is the type of bell you find a front desk when requesting service. The piece is done in an openwork form and is decorated with flowers, leaves and scrolls. The underside is felted.
The rim bears the anchor mark for the city of Birmingham, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a date letter e for the year 1904 and a maker's mark for William Henry Sparrow.
This piece is in good overall condition and the designs are crisp. The bell rings loudly when pressed. There is some slight denting along the rim and a small split to one of the openwork scroll designs, but this is only noticeable when you are inspecting the piece.
    Diameter: 3 1/8 inches.
    Height: 3 1/4 inches.
Weight: 212 grams or 7.5 regular ounces. (We are not sure if all metal parts inside are silver.)
