    Description

1974 Silver Proof Bahamas Coin. Shipped with USPS First Class.
    This is a
    0.925 Fine Silver Coin
struck at the Franklin Mint in celebration of the 1st Anniversary of the Bahamas Independence from the United Kingdom.
    This is a large coin!
    It weighs 1.499 ounces
(50.42 grams for you metric-minded folks),
and is a whopping 50mm in diameter
    !
The Obverse is a bust of Sir Milo Boughton Butler (1906 - 1979), a Bahamian politician who served as the 1st Governor of the Bahamas from 1973 to 1979. He died in office aged 72.  The Reverse is the Bahamian National Coat of Arms, crested by the representations of a Conch shell in front of a Panache of Palm Fronds, and supported by a Marlin on one side and a Flamingo on the other.
The coin is still in its original mint packaging, and while the packaging shows some wear on the edges, the coin itself is absolutely
    PRISTINE!
